Congratulations to all of the participants, in the kiddie dash, the one mile fun run and the official 5K run. A special shout out to first time participants!! (way to go Marti Francis—EC secretary!).
Thank you to the HP5K committee for all of your hard work in organizing this fun and successful annual town event.
Mark Kiernan and the DPW staff – thank you for your efforts setting up and cleaning up; thanks to HP School for hosting the start and finish, thanks to our HP Police for safety and supervision.
Thank you Troop 616 Boy Scout volunteers, who handed out water bottles at the finish.
And thank you Green Team and EC members Cindy Kennedy and Theresa Hazelton for walking the school field during and after the 5K and monitoring cleanup. They report that the waste containers were used, paper cups at mile marked 1 and 2 water stations along the course were recycled, and the water bottles at the finish line ended up in the recycling containers.
Fun day, good memories, great way to enjoy HP and minimal environmental impact!
