Nov 7 cleanup 3modTwenty people came out to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and to walk the woods, the playground & memorial and the borders of the sports fields looking for trash and recyclables. Nov 7 cleanup1

Our group picked up lots of plastic bottles, quite a few aluminum soda and cans, some glass bottles and even an empty can of peaches(!), almost filling two large barrels. A few of the cans had pull tops, meaning they have been in the woods for quite a while.

Nov 7 pull tab top(I was happy to note that the blue recycling containers at the fields are being sued, but people are still throwing recycling in garbage cans, even if a blue container is nearby…?!).

Nov 7 cleanup 8Probably the most interesting items found were a truck tire and the trunk of a ? 70’s car!
Thank you: Councilwoman Michelle Ryan for arranging for and getting the gloves/bags/grabber/materials from Clean Communities for our cleanup.
Thank you: John Terranova, Jack Housley, Nolan & Maya Griffith, Emily & Brian Walker, Judy Hunter, Alexander Bedoya, Ava, Chase, Karch & Brandy Wohner, Laura Fitzgerald, Joannie Turner, Councilwoman Joon Chung, Christopher & Michael Poggi and Laura Moulton > our town appreciates your hard work today!!Nov 7 tire1
The next HP town/woods cleanup will take place in the spring. Please email hpgreenteam@gmail.com if you know of an area that needs cleanup.
