Stokes State Forest trip: an HP 6th grade tradition!

Stokes1Each year Harrington Park School’s 6th grade participates in a three day trip to Stokes State Forest. This year’s trip took place from October 7th-9th. Stokes is located along 12 miles of the Kittatinny Mountain Ridge, northwest of Branchville in Sussex County, NJ. Stokes4The Appalachian Trail follows the Kittatinny Mountain Ridge through Stokes State Forest for ~ 12.5 miles. There are also more than 33 miles of marked trails within the Forest, which vary in length and difficulty. Two unique rock and water features in the park include Stepping Stone Falls and Tillman’s Ravine. Stokes State Forest is approximately a 1.5 hour drive (with an excited bus full of students!) from Harrington Park.Stokes5
