History Day Humus Sale – over 60 cubic yards of composted leaves will go back onto local yards and garden beds…

History Day 2The 2015 Harrington Park History Day celebration at Borough Hall brought a steady stream of visitors. Quite a few people came to the EC/Green Team table and spoke with the volunteers, who answered questions about recycling, composting, the ongoing activities related to the CSX freight trains & oil cars, local farmstands and farmers markets, and CSA’s, among other topics. History Day 6Teresa Napolitano, Ann Lander, and EC Chair Peter Ardito also sold humus for the DPW, for home delivery in early May. A 2 cubic yard sample is pictured on the back of the truck; the cost is $10 for a cubic yard, min order 2 yards. To order (call soon!) or for more information, please contact the DPW at 201-768-0944. Over 60 cubic yards were sold today!{Recycle:Reuse:Renew}

This humus is “home grown”- made from leaves vacuumed up from the curbs of HP homes in 2013 and composted at the back of Highland Field.
