On Saturday, April 18th, the Harrington Park Environmental Commission and the
Green Team, along with community volunteers, refurbished the Beechwoods trail and picked up litter in the Beechwoods Park. The park and trail look amazing and we hope that this refurbishment project will encourage members of our community to get out and enjoy the beautiful open space in our town. With that said, as it is April, and Earth Awareness month, we are challenging all members of the community to consider cleaning up an area near their home that may have accumulated litter over the winter. Bags and gloves will be available at the Environmental Commission/Green Team table this Saturday as we celebrate History Day and at Borough Hall for the next few weeks. Please consider this challenge by grabbing a bag and help clean up our town!
On Sunday April 19th, in less than 2 hours, EC members Anne Lander and Mary Ann Schran picked up 4 bags of recyclables and 2 bags of trash in the swampy woods and along the creek between 1st St. and N. Colonial Dr.
If you clean up an area in town, THANK YOU!! and please let us know how much you pick up – please post a comment or photo on Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you know of an area that needs a larger cleanup effort, please let us know that too– maybe we can tackle it in our fall cleanup!
