“No dumping – drains to stream”

storm drain Storm drains drain water to local waterways. Snow melt and rainwater that falls on our yards and streets in Harrington Park runs into the storm drains and ends up in the Oradell reservoir. With all the snow and wind, a lot of trash ended up on our yards and streets this winter and is being uncovered as the snow melts. These photos were taken on 3/13 on North Colonial Drive and show recyclables stuck in ice by the curb and items at a storm drain. I picked up the plastic container, but could not remove the things that had fallen in…Please notice the two marker fish: Every town in Bergen County is required to mark their storm drains with a “No Dumping – Drains to Stream “marker. trash2
