The early bird…gets the holly berries

Robins 3Each year, sometime between the end of January and mid February, a large flock of Robins arrive to feed on the berries on my Holly tree. This year they arrived on Valentine’s day. Robins 2The large Holly tree is covered in berries. By the end of their visit (only a day or two) there is not a berry left on the tree.

It is an amazing sight and makes me think that Spring is just around the corner.  Read more about Robins in winter. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/american_robin/lifehistory http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/robin/FAQSWintering.html
