The Harrington Park School courtyard and garden in mid October

Scarecrows HP School gardenThe school courtyard is an important part of Harrington Park School. HP school courtyard 10_14Teachers enjoy beautiful days eating lunch here. The middle school students use it as a cut through for quicker access to different parts of the building. And both the school Green and Garden Clubs use it as a learning and growing center.

Club members and their advisers meet as a group to maintain the gardens, work on projects and talk about environmental stewardship.

To kick off the fall HP school garden 3season the garden club created these fun scarecrows to decorate the area.

Soon the outdoor garden will go dormant and projects will move inside, but while the weather is still nice students and staff are enjoying the school courtyard in all its fall glory.HP school courtyard2 10_14Photos and content – Theresa Hazelton – HP EC and Green Team; past president HPHSA
