The HP Green Team and Environmental Commission members invite you to visit Don Horsey Park, located at the triangle intersection of Harriot Ave and Harriot Place. In celebration of Earth Day (and Arbor Day!), four white flowering dogwoods were planted at Don Horsey Park on April 22nd., 2014. One tree was dedicated to the memory of Mark Becker, a co-founder of the environmental group BergenSWAN, at a ceremony on April 22nd. Please read the April 22 and April 25 posts for more details. The dogwoods bloomed in early June (photos from June 1) and a memorial plaque was placed last week. Don Horsey Park is a short walk or bike from anywhere in HP and is really a lovely and peaceful place. The intermittent traffic usually seems like white noise; come visit the park, sit on the wooden benches in the gazebo, relax and enjoy the trees and birdsong!
