A Butterfly Garden for HP School…kudus to GS Troop 765!

The 7th grade Harrington Park Girl Scout Cadettes, members of Troop #675, have been very active this year working on their Silver Award. For their project the girls will be planting a butterfly garden in the Harrington Park School courtyard for all to enjoy. The girls researched what type of plants will attract butterflies, keeping in mind variations in color and blooming seasons. In the beginning of June they constructed the garden frame and filled it with 800 pounds of soil. In the next two weeks they will be planting the butterfly friendly plants and plan to coordinate their work with the HP School Garden Club, allowing the younger members of the school to get involved.
