April 28 followup…and the 2012 BCUA paper shredding and Computer/Tire Recycling events

EC members Carol Carinii and Mary Ann Schran, assisted by NVOT Senior Emma Bolla, were at the Boro Hall parking lot of Town History Day, April 28th to sell humus and give out Redbud saplings. ANJEC provided us with an information display entitled Green This House as well as handouts about green yard care, energy wise home improvement and recycling; we also had copies of the 2012 Green Pledge available.

The photos show an HP DPW truck loaded with 2 cubic feet of humus. 28 town residents purchased 98 cubic yards of humus, to be delivered to their homes.

30 Redbud trees were given out. These were especially a hit with the children. Please note the not quite full grown just past peak blooming Redbud tree behind the DPW truck.

A paper shredding truck was also present from 9-12noon and a slow but steady stream of people brought papers to recycle. We were asked several times when the next paper shredding event in HP would take place. This has not yet been scheduled; the next BCUA date is June 23- see below:
