HP School’s Garden Club

At Harrington Park School, Spanish teacher and Garden Club head Ms. Sally Denbeaux has been teaching the children in the Garden Club how to plant and maintain a garden. The Garden Club has met once a week at lunch throughout the school year to learn

about gardening and to plan their garden which consists of lettuces, herbs and green onions. The children have also been planting and weeding and doing some of the dirty work themselves.  Now that the garden is in full bloom the children are enjoying delicious salads for lunch picked fresh from their garden. In September, the school hopes to add two rain barrels to the garden.  The barrels will collect rain water that will be used to water the garden.
