CATALOG CHALLENGE AT HP SCHOOL

April is Earth Awareness month.  During this month, Harrington Park School is promoting environmental awareness and ways to protect our planet. The Catalog Canceling Challenge started on March 21st and will continue for 30 days. The school community hopes to make a small dent in the number of unwanted sales catalogs delivered to our homes each day. HP students and staff have been challenged to cancel the catalogs, either by calling the companies directly using the 1-800 numbers on the back of each catalog OR by setting up a free account at www.CatalogChoice.org and inputting the catalogs to be cancelled. Students will then bring the cancelled catalogs to school and drop them off in the blue recycling bins located in the main hallway outside the school library. At the end of 30 days the grade to cancel the most catalogs will be awarded one extra recess!
Thank you Green Team member Theresa Hazleton and HP School Principal Brian P Gatens.  Go Spartans!

It is easy to just recycle unwanted catalogs- along with the rest of unwanted junk mail- but it really takes only a few minutes to call and cancel the catalog before you recycle it! Added up over a year (esp with all the holiday catalogs) this action can make a difference.
